i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love.
i brought you my bullets you brought me your love is my chemical romances first album, released July 23, 2002 under eyeball records. As its the band debut album, its kind of messy and beautiful and it has to be my personal favorite mcr album. the vocals just seem so raw and gorgeous. during the recording of the album gerard was in, what he said, was the worst physical pain hes ever felt because he had a tooth abscess. the first song written on the album was 'skylines and turnstiles' which gerard wrote after witnessing 9/11.
the way i interpret the album is the story of the demolition lovers, two bonnie and clyde esque characters, ive always imagined them as like, runaway bride and groom. anyways, they get gunned down where the wife dies and the man escapes. the man finds himself heartbroken, willing to do anything to get his love back, goes to the devil to make a deal; kill 1000 men in trade for his lover. so the man agrees and goes out and kills a bunch of men but on the 999th man he finds out its himself and he has to make a decision of seeing his wife and living his life. he decides to end his life and gets sent into purgatory where he finds his wife and theyre able to be together in death. this is my personal interpretation of the album ^_^ you can imagine it however you want though
one of my favorite songs from this album is early sunsets over monroeville. this song is actually inspired by george romeros film, "dawn of the dead", a zombie movie filmed in the monroeville mall, hence the name of the song and the reaccuring mall themes throughout the song along with of course, zombies. some of examples of the lyrics would be: "not knowing you'd change after just one bite," and "but would anything matter if youre already dead."
